Hi Steve,

Thanks for this great post of what it's like to strip doors in preparation for painting when renovating old houses. I have used the technique of the heat gun to remove the old paint which was the easier method for me. You're right about not stopping: if you do, the paint stops peeling! But it's good to know the applied products you've mentioned here for the last bit of paint removal as well. When doing doors, you'll probably be doing the skirtings and architraves as well. A big job, but worth it in the end when you see the original wood grain.
